Shipping, Delivery, and Pick Up Policies
(and why we do not offer free shipping)

Shipping Policy 

Orders are shipped in the order in which they are received via USPS, or the shipping provider of customer's choice. In order to be as sustainable as possible, all orders are shipped in recycled boxes, using recycled/upcycled materials whenever possible- this may include plastic, Uline, or other less-than-beautiful packaging materials.

(I knew I hoarded packing materials for a reason!)

Otherwise, orders are shipped in eco-friendly mailers when possible.

We do not offer free shipping, as it would increase the product price dramatically, and you, the customer, end up paying more per item (oftentimes, more than shipping is worth)! We do not think this is fair to you.

We believe you, the customer, should decide how fast your shipping is, which shipper you prefer, and offer shipping as low-cost as possible (rather than mark up every single item). 

WE CURRENTLY DO NOT SHIP LIQUIDS. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Missing/Undelivered Items via USPS and Local Delivery

For all orders shipped priority, please use the provided tracking number to track the movement and delivery of your order.  Priority mail shipments include up to $100 insurance.  If your order is not delivered within 15 days, please contact fromheretohomeessentials@gmail.com. You may file a claim with USPS or request we do it on your behalf.

Once the package is in USPS's hands, there is only so much we can do. Unfortunately, we cannot help if your package has been delivered to the wrong address or picked off by porch pirates, as this is a USPS issue. I hate it too. I'm sorry. 

According to USPS policy, tracking information is stored for 120 days, and all claims on Priority mail MUST be made within sixty days of the shipment. Once that window is closed, there is, unfortunately, nothing From Here to Home Essentials can do to locate your package and no refunds or exchanges will be accepted. 

Note: First class mail does NOT come with tracking or insurance. 

Local Delivery Policy 

Local deliveries will be made to the address provided at check out. PLEASE double check all local delivery addresses. Please note any special instructions, such as leaving your purchase with a concierge, delivery area, or inside of a screen door.

If you have made an error, please contact fromheretohomeessentials@gmail.com ASAP to ensure correct delivery. 

You will receive a notice from Shopify and a text (if number is provided) once the delivery has been made. 

Again, once the order has been marked as delivered, there will be no refunds for porch pirates. I'm sorry.  If there has been a delivery error on my end, please do reach out. Refunds/exchanges will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Pick Up Policy

Pick up orders FROM THE MAIN ADDRESS can be arranged. My home is tricky to find even with GPS, which can lead to confusion for customers, which we want to avoid. We want to make this as easy as possible for you. Please reach out after ordering to confirm a pick up time and correct location. 

For our partner pick up locations (Easy Little Plants, Upcycled, and Bethesda Chiropractic and Rehab), please check their store hours before picking up. Orders are delivered to these locations once a month on fixed dates, at no cost, regardless of when your order is placed. Please be patient!
